Custom ink in the heart of the city — two studios, one standard.
God Of Ink is a professional tattoo studio in central Amsterdam with two locations: Warmoesstraat 89 and Spuistraat 197. We do custom designs, cover-ups, fine line, blackwork and realism. Both studios use single-use needles, open daily from 11:00 to 23:00, and accept both walk-ins and appointments.
God Of Ink runs two Amsterdam tattoo studios in the centre — Warmoesstraat 89 (1012 HZ) and Spuistraat 197 (1012 VN). Both are open daily 11:00-23:00, take walk-ins and appointments, and work with sterile single-use equipment. For a quote, send your idea over WhatsApp.
Both of our Amsterdam studios sit inside the canal belt, a few minutes on foot from Dam Square and Amsterdam Centraal. You can reach either one without a car.
The two locations share the same artists, the same hygiene protocol and the same pricing. Which one you book depends only on availability and on which street is easier for you.
Our artists are generalists with specialisms. Tell us the idea and we will put you with the person who does that style every week, not once a year.
A first tattoo takes longer than people expect, mostly because of the preparation. Here is the sequence we follow at both Amsterdam studios.
Tattooing in the Netherlands is regulated. Studios must hold a permit from the GGD (municipal health service) and follow the national hygiene guidelines for tattoo and piercing establishments.
Everything that touches your skin is single-use and opened in front of you. Needles, tubes, ink caps, razors and gloves are disposed of after one client. Work surfaces are covered with barrier film and disinfected between sessions.
We do not tattoo anyone under 18, anyone who is visibly intoxicated, or over an active skin infection. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder, tell us at the consultation — some of these are absolute contraindications and some just need scheduling around.
How a tattoo looks in five years depends more on aftercare and sun exposure than on the machine that made it. The plan below is what we hand out at the studio.
Both work. Walk-ins are realistic for small and medium flash pieces, especially on weekday afternoons. For anything custom, large, or on a specific date, book ahead — the artist needs drawing time.
The fastest way to get a slot is WhatsApp. Send a reference image, the rough size in centimetres and the body area, and you will get a price range and the next free date the same day.

You must be 18 or older to get tattooed in the Netherlands. We ask for a valid photo ID at every appointment, with no exceptions and no parental consent option.
It is uncomfortable rather than unbearable for most people. Fleshy areas such as the outer arm and thigh are the easiest. Ribs, sternum, spine, hands, feet and the inner arm are the most sensitive. Eat beforehand, stay hydrated and tell the artist if you need a break.
The surface heals in about 2 to 3 weeks. The deeper layers of skin take 2 to 3 months to fully settle. Avoid swimming, sauna and direct sun for the first three weeks.
In most cases yes. Cover-ups depend on the size, darkness and age of the existing tattoo. Send a clear photo over WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly whether a cover-up, a rework or laser fading first is the better route.
Yes. If an area heals unevenly we touch it up free of charge within 3 months of the original session, provided the aftercare instructions were followed.
Our Amsterdam team works in English, Dutch, Turkish, German and Russian. You can send your reference and questions in any of these languages.
